{what to wear to a fall wedding}

One of the hardest things to dress for in the cooler months are rehearsal dinners and weddings! You want something comfortable to dance in, appropriate for the dress code, and seasonal! If you're like me, then you don't want long sleeves or a heavy, thick material if you're tearing up the dance floor. Getting a strappy dress is totally fine for the cold if you add a cashmere wrap to give you some warmth (bonus points because it will cover your shoulders if you're at a strict ceremony and don't want to keep a coat on). So how do you keep it seasonally appropriate... The answer? Color and fabric! Stick with dark hues like navy, black, wine/burgundy, and emerald green. For the fabric make sure it doesn't wrinkle easily (that instantly cheapens a dress) and that it's nicer than your simple black dress you wear to work. This is your opportunity to make a statement!

I originally tried this dress on in red at Shop Luna in Bethesda - y'all went nuts over it on IG stories. While I love a red dress more than anything I wanted to keep things a bit more muted for the rehearsal dinner (I was a bridesmaid) and this navy blue was so stunning when the fabric moves. It's stretchy and hugs you in the right places while still allowing you to eat (phew). I'm a small chested gal so I loved the knot at the front to give me some shape. I paired it with my favorite leopard clutch for a pop, comfortable nude heels, and the most gorgeous camel cashmere wrap I own. Camel goes with everything and really makes the navy appear rich!

This summer's humidity has been out of control... all I want to do is stay inside or hide in the shade when I'm outside. I normally opt for rompers or short sundress but I love my maxi dresses! When I spotted this gorgeous blue number I almost passed on it. Then I realized it was linen aka the best fabric to wear in hot weather! It's so breathable and the cropped length made it really easy to move in.  I can't get enough of the criss-cross back and pretty detailing.
Walking around with Katie, exploring Kalorama while admiring the houses, and drinking an iced chai was the perfect start to my morning. The open back on this dress made me okay with having my hair down too! I'm definitely packing this number up for the fourth of july! The bright blue is so gorgeous!

Do y'all have fun plans for the Fourth? Im curious, did people celebrate last weekend leading up to the Fourth? Or are they celebrating after?!

{black lace}

Black Lace Tank Top, Target - not online (similar, similar) // J.Crew Gigi Pants // Sam Edelman Heels, old (similar, similar, similar) // Old Navy GreySweater // Clare V Clutch 15% off with code GOBIG17 (cheaper version) // Baublebar Earrings c/o // BaubleBar Ring // Daniel Wellington Watch // Bite Lipstick

Now that it's March, everyone (including myself) is dreaming of pastels and flowy dresses... but I'm still taking the opportunity to rock all black. The second I saw this top I knew I would love how it looked and I thought of multiple ways to style it. Paired with black jeans and a leather jacket, tucked into a pencil skirt with a colorful cardigan, or a colorful scarf wrapped around your shoulders with ripped jeans. It’s the perfect dress up or dress down tank - I knew I wanted to pair it with stilettos and a cozy cardigan first. Hello, date night look!

Did you see how I styled this silk tank while I was in NYFW?? Check it out here!

{stripes + ripped denim}

Photography by Emily Smalling

Tobi Striped Top // DL1961 Ripped Denim c/o // Sam Edelman Pumps // Kendra Scott Necklace c/o // Ray-Ban Aviators // Kate Spade Clutch, old (similar) // NARS Lipstick in "heat wave"

Two of my favorite things - stripes and ripped jeans. I think I wear stripes at least twice a week! I love pairing them with bright colors, neutrals or a fun print. It's something that I constantly reach for to try and experiment with pattern mixing. I also love these ripped jeans... I wear them all the time because they never get baggy around the knees (haha duh).

Side note - I'm studying for (another) big exam so my posts are going to be a little bit fewer around here :) I'll still try to post at least two times a week and will be constantly posting on instagram so be sure to follow along!
