{recipe | moscow mule}

Any guesses as to what my favorite cocktail is? I know I've never mentioned it before… never instagrammed a picture before… never snapchatted about it before ;) When you find something that just hits the spot - you don't stray from it. I know the Moscow Mule has become incredibly trendy recently. Maybe it's because you serve it in adorable copper mugs? I'm a fan because I love anything with mint and citrus in it. The ginger beer gives it the perfect kick and the vodka makes it a little bit stronger. So, since I haven't done a recipe in forever (literally months) I figured I would help y'all get your weekend kick started by providing you responsible adults with the easiest cocktail recipe ever (it's fool proof - you could change these proportions and it'll still be great)!

Now on to this week's #recipeswithmyiphone blog post:

Ginger Beer (I prefer Crabbie's)
Vodka (Tito's is gluten free)
Fresh Mint
Crushed Ice
Lime Wedges (I had juice already made)
Simple Syrup (optional)
Moscow Mule Mug

1. Gather all your ingredients and fill your cup about half way with crushed ice (bonus points if you keep your mugs in the freezer already).

2. Fill the mug 3/4 of the way with ginger beer.

3. Add in two shots of vodka (you can obviously add more or less if you prefer - I like the spiciness of the ginger beer).

4. Chop up the fresh mint and add that to your mug.

5. Squeeze a fresh lime wedge or add in lime juice (fresh is better - I had some from margaritas the weekend before)

6. Add a tablespoon of simple syrup - depending on how sweet you like your moscow mule. [simple syrup is one part boiling water to one part sugar]

7. Mix it all together! I like to put a sprig of mint in the mug to use as a cute stirrer :)

8. ENJOY on a hot summer day! [or lay in your bed and watch snap chats like I prefer to do at night…]

Do you have a favorite cocktail? I love trying new drinks that I can make at home! Please share if you do :) I hope everyone has a fun weekend ahead of them. I'm off to Roanoke for the weekend to see the boy and go to our last wedding of 2015 (we already have 3 on the books for next year)! Phew - we've been to a ton. I'm ready for all of the traveling to slow down a bit so I can enjoy some lazy weekends at home!

{totes adorbs}

Have you ever styled an entire outfit around one bag? #guilty

My Kind Of Lovely "Totes Adorbs" Bag ℅ // Lou & Grey Shirt via Loft // Denim Shorts // Jack Rogers // Pave Necklace via Rocksbox (similar) // Tassel Necklace, boutique find (favorite tassels here) // GloMinerals Lipstick in "Demure" ℅ // Kendra Scott Double Druzy Ring

It's true… I carry this bag all the time now and I styled my whole outfit around it. I picked this cozy tee at Loft last weekend (I got an amazing poncho too!!) and loved the relaxed fit and style. Pairing it with longer jean shorts [so you could tell I was actually wearing pants] and my Jacks only seemed reasonable. Topping it off with two cool, sparkly necklaces pulled the look together and added a girly touch - Totes adorbs, right?

Be sure to check out My Kind Of Lovely! Not only is the boutique insanely adorable and reasonably priced but the two ladies behind the brand are the sweetest!

{hallmark signature style}

Developing a signature style has never come easily to me… I love following trends and trying out new styles. That's part of the fun of fashion right? It's something that comes and goes and you can truly put your own spin on it. One of the best parts is that you can tailor what you're wearing to an event. It's always better to be overdressed in my opinion. This belief has led me to have a lot of neutral heels and a TON of jewelry. While staring at my closet trying to figure out what to wear last weekend that's when it hit me: my signature style has to do with accessories. I pull all of my outfits together with fun jewels and a bright lip. My clothing trends may change but I'll always stay true to layering on the sparkles and subtle details.

With the help of Hallmark I put together four looks for my everyday #SignatureStyle! Cards by Hallmark, fashion by me ;) because just how there's a jewel for every event, there is also the perfect card!

Birthday: dinner, drinks and dancing!

Wedding: celebrating under the stars all night!

Anniversary: a quiet, romantic meal for two!

Congratulations: an easy dress with fun accessories!

Party: everything's better with tassels and a margarita!

{warm like a summer sunset}

There have been a couple of times this summer where I've gotten cold and wished I had a sweater…

With Labor Day approaching quickly I'm wearing as much white as possible… Okay, that's a blatant lie. I wear white all the time and I never let rules like silly Labor Day stop me from wearing white. (Just wait until I'm a bride - I might as well invest in a lifetime supply of bleach because I L-O-V-E wearing white!)

I have a weird tendency to get super hot or really cold in the summer. It's caused me to always carry a sweater no matter what so that I'm always prepared. One of my favorite things to do is wear neutrals and then have a really brightly colored accessory. Normally, that's jewelry in my case. Recently, I've tried to mix things up a bit by finding pieces that can help me transition some color into Fall… I normally wear a lot of black (remember my New Year's Resolution?). I love how I can scrunch these sleeves up easily and toss it in my bag. It's light weight enough so that I don't feel like I'm getting sweaty in the Summer humidity. It's safe to say that everything Marie Oliver creates is luscious and full of life - I can't get enough and am excited to see what goodies they come out with for Fall! These colors remind me of a summer sunset so I hope that their new collection has rich colors that evoke the reds and oranges of Fall - swoon!
