{football friday | style your orange part 2}

Photography by Ashlee

I'm back with another football Friday! Now that the weather is getting a little cooler we can begin to incorporate warmer layers. I found this maroon poncho at Target last Saturday (after watching the Hokies score a big W) and knew it would be a go-to for me on game days. It's still warm and sunny during the day but when the sun goes down I want a little something else. Especially with all the rain we've been having. Nothing's better than rocking your school color combo right? I threw on my Converse sneakers to make this look a bit more casual. When a game is at 12:30 you just want to get to brunch (and tailgating) as quickly as possible. I've had these chucks for years and they're so comfortable.

And yes, white jeans - because I love maroon and orange with white :) it just makes the colors pop so much better!!

{dagne dover bag review}

I was recently introduced to Dagne Dover (thanks, BAC!) and instantly fell in love with their bags. I love a simple, structured bag that can work from day to night. I took both of them to Charleston with me at the beginning of August to take them for an initial spin. I had a couple of y'all send me chats and emails asking me to review them - as promised, I am, but I wanted to make sure I gave them some loving first!

As you can tell by the photos they're still in pristine condition. I've carried the large bag to work every single day since receiving it and the tiny one has come out with me on the weekend a couple of times (I keep it in the duster bag when I'm not carrying it). The coated canvas has held up wonderfully and I love all of the pockets inside.

I'm big on everything having a place otherwise my bag gets dirty (and full and heavy) so the organization in this purse is a life saver. It has a padded pocket for your iPad and pockets for your phone, wallet, credit cards, and even a drink koozie! One of my favorite features is the "key chain" - with such a big bag it can be easy to lose your keys and spend time digging around to find them. When I lock up my apartment every day I clip them onto the key chain so that I can easily fish them out at the end of the day. It's the little things, right?

The bag fits comfortably over my shoulder and I love how it stays structured after a lot of use! It also has little metal feet on the bottom to protect the canvas if you ever set it on the ground. Since I take public transportation to and from work I like to have my bag zipped across the top. Having the front zipper for my phone gives me easy access to it if I need to check an email or change the song I'm listening to. Such a cool, hidden feature.

The Tiny Tote is perfect for a night out - throw it over your shoulder, across your body, or in the nook of your arm. It has the same cute key chain feature but with a matching card holder! So if your wallet is too big to fit in this nugget you can switch everything to the card holder. It also zips across the top which is so rare to find for a small purse! Even though I got this color in the summer I knew I had to get it in Oxblood so I could carry it through the rest of the year. It's such a gorgeous, rich hue!

If you're looking for a good work purse (I get asked about them all the time) I can't recommend the 13" tote enough - BUT if you carry a laptop around a lot definitely consider the 15". It fits a laptop!

{home decor | bar cart}

Target Bar Cart // Mercury Vase (similar) // Mercury Jar (similar, similar) // Anthropologie PiƱata, in stores // Wine Glasses (similar) // Gold Hurricane (similar) // Lime Vase Filler // Acrylic Tray // Colorful Bowls, similar // 101 Sangrias and Pitcher Drinks Book
Palm Trees Art c/o // Purple Kimono Art c/o // Rose Art c/o

I have wanted a bar cart for years! I know, that sounds ridiculous... I've just always been fascinated by them. I love how you can change up the look, put your festive things on display, and have everything on hand for serving your guests. Now that I have my own space I had the perfect spot for a bar cart and a mini gallery wall! Having a collage of art was a way to anchor the bar cart to the space - so it didn't seem like it was just floating along a big white wall. I already had two canvases that I painted and a wooden anchor (hello, blog name) and I knew that mixing in different sizes of art would create a fun look!

Now that Halloween and Thanksgiving are coming up I switched out a few things to make it more festive! I went on a little trip to Marshall's and Target last weekend to get out of the house and found these adorable pumpkins! I'm sure everyone will have them but I can't get enough... they'll work perfectly all Fall!

{draper james | vote y'all}

Photography by Laura

Election season is riiiiight around the corner and all of DC is buzzing. But then again, all of social media is too! I had so much fun shooting this look in Dupont the other weekend. I always carry a canvas tote to work (along with my purse) because it's the easiest way to carry my heels and lunch. Since I commute by walking and taking the bus I don't wear my heels until I'm at my desk. It just helps them stay a bit cleaner and have less wear and tear. This tote is perfect for the city because of the political atmosphere! A friendly reminder and a cool graphic? Sold!

I did a fun interview with the Draper James team featuring this tote - be sure to check out their blog to read about my work career and blog career :) it also has some tidbits about my style!
