{striped dress in nantucket}

In September I had my first chance to visit Nantucket! It was such a gorgeous island - every corner was cuter than the next full of charm. I knew we were going to be going to dinner on the water one night so I went on the hunt for the perfect nautical dress. I wanted something that would keep me warm when the nights got chilly (long sleeves and heavy material) but still had some sass to it (deep v in the front and back). When I spotted this dress it checked all those boxes PLUS it has so much character to it with the tassel ties and the ruffle skirt.

I was at Shop Luna the weekend before looking for a rehearsal dinner dress (more on that later) when I spotted this striped beauty. I paired it with open toed heels but I think it would be adorable with tan boots and a maroon wrap. The material is so thick that it didn't wrinkle at all and i was comfortable the whole night (even with a sunburn I didn't get chilly haha).

Shop Luna is a boutique in Bethesda and they always have the best brands that you can find at Nordstrom and Revolve too. This brand, MISA Los Angeles, is new to me and I can't get enough of it! Adorable silhouettes, luxe colors, and perfect details.

{how to transition a spring dress into the fall}

DC is currently experiencing a weird change of seasons where it's not gradually getting cooler and there's nothing in between... it's simply hot at 85 degrees or overcast and cloudy at 65. A lovely 20 degree difference that makes it really hard to dress for. The plus side of this? It's the perfect excuse to rock those cute summer dresses one last time! I love pairing them with boots or booties and add in my fall jackets to top it off. It gives the dress a totally new look, you're staying cool, yet you still look like a fall fashionista with stylish accessories!

I purchased these boots last summer (during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale) and they're perfect to take a bright colored dress through these strange temps. I love how versatile they are and they're incredibly comfortable to walk in because of the block heel. Top the look off with a jean jacket (that seriously goes with everything) and you're all set!

Of course I realize the irony that I'm drinking an iced matcha latte in these photos... the perfect summer drink in my mind. It was almost 80 when I took these photos in the afternoon but it was cooler in the morning - typical!
