{football friday: orange style}

Orange Dress, old (similar, more linked below) // H&M Vest, in stores (similar, more linked below) // Gigi New York Purse // Tory Burch Sandals // Francesca's Earrings, old // NARS Lipstick in "Tolede"

It's no secret that orange is a hard color to style (especially this particular shade). It can look totally different on everyone depending on your skin tone. When football season rolls around I always reach for orange (or maroon - go Hokies!) when I get dressed for work before game days and you better believe it's the only color I wear when we have a game on Saturday - home or away!! Football was a huge part of my college experience. I bonded with so many people over this team and didn't miss a single home game for five years. Plus, the tailgating... I mean who doesn't love that? Even living in DC I'll always get together with college friends to have a mini-party and watch the Hokies win.

Now that I'm an alumni I don't just reach for a t-shirt on game day. I did that freshman year and used to make fun of people who "dressed up" for games but I soon learned that wearing spaghetti straps and a breezy dress was a lot more comfortable than jean shorts and a t-shirt with plastic lettering all over it ;) I'm all about basic orange or maroon and finding ways to make it fit my style. I'm an accessory girl through and through - I have the hokie beads, face tattoos, earrings, bracelets, etc. but I don't always wear that out to watch a game with friends! Especially if we're gonna hang around later after a noon game haha. While shopping at H&M the other weekend I saw this little white vest (not available online yet, sorry y'all) and knew it would be perfect to wear over some bright colors. Turns out that orange isn't my color after getting a sunburn on your arms. Yikes. The white vest helped break up the color a bit and it gave me a unique look! It will be perfect with a long orange shirt, jeans and boots in a couple of weeks! I had originally planned to wear my chucks with this outfit but it was a little too humid.

Toss on some spirited earrings (Francesca's is always my go-to for earrings like this), grab an easy cross body bag with a koozie inside, throw your hair up, and get ready to start jumping!!!! LET'S GOOOOO!!

Surprise!!! I've teamed up with 10 other ladies who LOVE to rock their orange on gameday too! Be sure to check out their blogs and see their orange style. I know I'll be taking some notes myself ;)

Thank you for reading!

PS. who else is ready for Battle at Bristol this weekend? I'll be wearing maroon since the Vols' only color is orange ;) Can't wait to tailgate in Bristol with all of my Hokie family!!! It's going to be insane!! Plus, I'll be camping... HAHA

Love Always,
