{sassy and cozy}

Mock Turtleneck // Leather Skirt // Steve Madden OTK Boots // Rebecca Minkoff Clutch (gold not online, identical) // Kendra Scott Earrings // BaubleBar Ring // NARS Lipstick in “Luxembourg”

I can’t believe I forgot to share these photos that I took a couple of months ago because the trees are stunning and I’m obsessed with this look. It’s the perfect mixture of sass and comfort in my mind! A cozy mock turtleneck paired with a leather skirt? Perfection. For those gals who are scared of wearing a leather mini – pair it with suede over the knee boots so you don’t have as much leg showing. That will help you feel covered up while still rocking some fun leather. Plus, this look was surprisingly warm! I have a feeling this outfit will be brought out for NYFW this weekend (I mean I did wear these boots for four days straight last year haha).

{faux leather leggings}

Photography by Emily Smalling

Zara Cashmere Turtleneck (similar, similar - both on sale) // Lush White Blouse (underneath) // Faux Leather Leggings // Steve Madden OTK Boots // Julie Vos Necklace c/o // Daniel Wellington Watch c/o (15% off with code JENNROG) // Kendra Scott Druzy Studs c/o // David Yurman Cuff // Miu Miu Sunglasses via Shop Ditto (first month free with SOUTHERNANCHORS) // GloMinerals Suede Matte Lipstick in "port" via DermStore c/o

With snow predictions for Friday I felt it was only fitting to share this outfit! I had this all prepped for New York and never got around to wearing it. I love the mix of cashmere and (faux) leather - so luxurious yet the layers are so easy and simple. Whenever I wear something loose up top I always try to keep the bottom sleek and fitted. This way I don't look like a giant blob teetering in suede boots ;) The best part is this look can be recreated so easily! All you need is a comfy turtleneck (or big sweater), long collarless blouse, leggings, and boots. I added a long, gold necklace to lengthen my torso and grabbed my new sunnies to glam up the look.

Here's hoping the snow doesn't freak DC out all over again! Like it did on the day I took these photos... ha! The city can't deal...

{shake your hips}

Photography by Lauren

Leather Fringe Skirt (identical) // White blouse (identical) // J.Crew Tights // Impo Booties (similar, similar, similar) // Lisi Lerch Tassel Earrings // Sephora Lipstick in "hot tango" // J.Crew Black Purse, old (similar)

Have you ever had an item in your closet that you wanted to wear ALL the time but felt you could only pull out for certain events? That's this leather fringe skirt for me. I've had it for three years now and maybe only wear it 2-3 times a year... but that works! I found an identical one this winter and knew it was time to break it out again. It's the perfect way to dress up a simple outfit for a holiday party! Especially if you're against tacky sweaters and red everything (I'm not opposed to either fyi) but still want to have a fun glam look. I added a red lip to bring some color to the ensemble and topped it off with the best holiday party earrings I own - gold tassels :) Once you put this skirt on you just can't help but shake your hips all night long!

What do you think of the leather fringe? Yay or nay?
