{a little bit retro}

Bite Matte Lip Crayon in "Pastille"

One of the easiest outfits I had planned for NYFW was this Elizabeth & James dress from RTR. I knew we were going to have a "fancy" evening one night in NYC and this dress fit the bill perfectly. We started with the Monique Lhuillier show (HEAVEN.), went to dinner at The Smith in Midtown and then hopped over to Hotel Americano for a little party!

When I went to the store in Georgetown I had just purchased my OTK boots and wanted to find a dress to pair them with (little did I know I would wear these boots every single day). I loved the flirty length of the dress and how it showed just enough thigh without making me worry the dress was too short. The bell sleeves, a-line hem and cut-out provided a little bit of retro flair - something I don't normally gravitate towards. I paired it with this gorgeous Chanel bag and a houndstooth cape with a fur collar. Having long sleeves made the cape an obvious choice... you always saw the plum color peeking through.

Side note... yes, it was 1 degrees with -19 wind chill when Lauren and I took these photos. The entire hotel told us we were brave *cough cough crazy* for shooting. All in the name of fashion right? I mean, when in NYC! We attempted to photograph a brunch look later but couldn't stand it with the wind. I wanted sooooo badly to have a New York City backdrop but it just didn't happen :( Guess I'll just have to shoot all of my looks in DC. I still can't believe all of the people standing outside of shows to get that perfect instagram. We hopped in an uber as fast as we could!! Words can't describe how jealous I am of everyone who is in warmer weather! We were greeted with 4" of snow when we got home haha :)

Love Always,
