{birdies leather flats}

Something about searching for a comfortable and cute pair of flats makes me cringe... some people hate searching for jeans and I hate looking for flats that fit your foot well and won't give you blisters after walking 2 blocks. Don't get me started on the aches of a flat arch after a day too!

Enter Birdie's! I've heard people raaaave and go on and on about how comfortable their shoes are so I was really excited when they asked me to try a pair out. Well let's just say my first experience wearing these shoes included my mom and I walking all over the neighborhood looking for a pretty tree to take photos in front of (haha yep, just being honest). I barely even realized I had brand new flats on they were so comfortable - that rarely happens! I also had horrible blisters on my feet from wearing closed toe heels the week before and they didn't get irritated at all. They have 7, yes seven, layers of cushion inside the shoe. "The support of a sneaker, the softness of a slipper, and the style of a designer flat" - I don't think I could have explained it better myself!

I've always gravitated towards neutral shoes - I feel like they make your legs look longer and they just go with everything! This leather pair is so soft and squishy on the inside that I truly feel like I'm wearing a slipper! They run true to size but a little snug because they mold to your feet over time - so the leather stretches slightly and the sole forms around your foot. Mine feel like they were custom made to my foot after wearing them for only a week.

There's no doubt in my mind that I'm going to order another pair... hello, Cheetah!!

Have you ever tried Birdie's before or heard of them?

{bright striped sweater}

We're at the point of winter where I'm seriously over bundling up for cold weather and am very ready for spring. I don't want to wear my scarves anymore, I'm not excited for riding boots, and layers make me want to cry. Yep, it's the end of February!

The best (and brightest haha) solution I have for this seasonal remedy? Wearing a fun, but cozy, sweater. Bonus points if it's only $20! I picked this up at the beginning of February and have been wearing it almost every weekend. I get so many compliments on it and it really is super warm while being incredibly soft. I wore it for a little coffee date exploring Georgetown with my friend Katie. We picked up hot chocolates from Cafe Georgetown and then walked around looking at all of the townhouses. Even in the dead of winter Georgetown manages to make me smile!

My athleisure looks would be a normal outfit for a Sunday stroll but I really wanted to put an outfit together with these white sneaks - and not just pair them with leggings and a sweatshirt! I was honestly surprised at how much I loved them with jeans. They go perfectly with any type of sweater and create a "cool, casual girl" look. The trick for the right white shoe (in my opinion) is to keep them lightweight and streamlined - no chunky details or weird shaped soles. Just a simple, straight, all-white look. The best part is that you can wear socks with them and they're incredibly lightweight when you're packing! I'm excited to try styling them with sundresses and jean jackets when the temperatures warm up... dreaming hard over here y'all...
