{fringe benefits}

I mentioned I was bringing the skort back and I wasn't kidding - I'm sure y'all are sick of seeing it ;)

Photography by Emily Smalling

White Skort, old (identical, identical) // Francesca's Fringe top, not online (similar, similar) // Michael Kors Wedges (currently on sale - get half size up) // Clare Vivier Leopard Clutch (cheaper & similar version) // Gorjana Ring // Baublebar Tassel Earrings // GloMinerals Lipstick in "Demure" ℅

I just love this outfit - so simple in black and white but all of the details make it interesting and fun. I've worn this skort dressed up and dressed down before so I wanted to make it more of the focus by pairing it with an easy black tank. The fringe at the bottom shows perfectly against the white! I obviously paired my two favorite accessories with this black and white look (per usual): turquoise jewelry and a touch of leopard!

This lipstick is my new go-to neutral color… is it weird that I feel like Kylie Jenner would like this color?? It has a subtle hint of warmth but is still toned down (unlike my usual bright pink or red lip)! Bonus: you can get your first order 15% off with code SOUTHERNANCHORS15. You won't regret checking out these lippies :) there's a pencil sharpener in the cap and they last all day!!

{party pants}

Party pants… aka palazzo pants ;)

Photography by Emily Smalling

South Moon Under Top // South Moon Under Pants, not online // Accessory Concierge Clutch (just found out that it's sold out. sorry!) // Loren Hope Earrings via Rocksbox // Michael Kors Wedges (go half size up!) // Kendra Scott Bangle via Rocksbox (get your first month free with code JENNIFERBFF102) // NARS Lipstick in "Schiap"

As the nights begin to get cooler I find it harder to figure out what to wear. I'm not ready to put away the rompers and fun colors but I'm also not wanting to carry a sweater around everywhere. I found these pants at SMU and instantly got excited. I've been looking for a fun pair of palazzo pants for awhile because they're great for the summer and easy to transition into the colder months. I promised y'all I would style this shirt multiple ways (last seen here) and I loved how it looks tucked into these pants to really elongate my legs. Thank goodness for wedges, right?

Hope you guys are having a great week so far I'm happy to be back blogging :)

{dancing in the street}

"Calling out around the world
Are you ready for a brand new beat?
Summer's here and the time is right
For dancing in the street"

Photography by Katie Urban

After a really fun weekend I figured it was only fitting to post a really fun outfit!! I adored wearing this dress in Charleston and it was perfect for the heat because it breathed so well. It also was pretty loose and caught the breeze really easily. Even though it was black I was comfortable walking around and exploring Chucktown before dinner with friends! The little pom-pom details are such a precious touch and it was the perfect opportunity to throw on some bright accessories and my favorite lippie… I love it paired with turquoise!

Stay tuned on Instagram and Snapchat (jennrog3) today because I have a super exciting announcement for you DC/VA area ladies!! EEK! I'll do a full recap in tomorrow's blog post! ;) Any guesses as to what it is?? It has to do with something pretty in this post!

{red hot summer}

Feelin' a little red hot in this maxi!

Photography by Emily Smalling

Even though it's hot and humid this summer I find myself reaching for maxi dresses - being able to keep the sun off my legs is crucial! It also makes it easy to curl up in the grass and not get itchy ;) I loved the bright colors (and the price) of this maxi. I think it would have been perfect for a fiesta!

The real star of this outfit is my Knox Thomas Designs bracelet. The coordinates are of my parent's home in Baltimore! I haven't taken it off since I got it. It goes so well with the rest of my stack and it's adjustable so it can fit on my tiny wrists! Be sure to check out the rest of her Etsy shop - you can customize her bracelets with initials or roman numerals too!

{weekends in olive green}

Photography by Rachel Brennan

I wore this dress out in Annapolis last weekend and it was perfect in the hot night because it caught the air and was breezy! I paired it with an elastic belt to help give it a bit more shape. This belt is my new favorite because it never budges and is so sleek… it almost looks like it's part of the dress! I was drawn to the olive green because it was such a different color for summer and I adore it against gold and neutral.

One more day until the weekend… phew!
