{rainy day blues}

Some bright colors were necessary to brighten up this rainy day!

photography by Emily Smalling

London Grace Boutique Top ℅ (chevron sold out, paisley) // London Grace Boutique Tassel Bracelet ℅ ($12!) // Gigi New York Purse // Hunter Boots via Nordstrom (mine are Graphite Gloss) // BaubleBar Acrylic Double Monogram Necklace (mine is the mini in gold acrylic, $48)

This adorable, chevron, brightly colored top was perfect to lift my mood. I love the "piko style" with long sleeves and a loose fit throughout the body and I especially love how this one has some length to it! One of my New Years resolutions is to bring more color into my winter wardrobe (I don't have that problem in the summer ha) so when London Grace sent me this top it was perfect to start off this year. Plus, a turquoise tassel bracelet? HELLO! Y'all know I'm a sucker for tassels and turquoise!
Guess what?! You can get your own for 20% with code WELOVEANCHORS! The code is good through the end of January… how about we all agree to wear color in the winter and start off with a tassel ;) so many colors!!

Hard to believe that last weekend it was warm and rainy and now it's snowing and windy! Luckily my Hunter rain boots transition from rain to snow perfectly… I just add in my cute boot socks! Now I need to get these shearling boot inserts and I'll be all set! (Still waiting for Bean Boots to come back in stock haha)

PS boy am I ready for this weekend - even though I'm home for a dentist appointment to get some fillings, ugh - we had a pipe burst in our garage last night and had to turn our water off before we had even finished dinner. Dang freezing temps are screwing everything up! I never had a chance to shower after I worked out last night… YIKES! Luckily my office has a shower off the little gym in the basement sooo that's where I'm getting ready this morning. Cute!

{currently craving: here and there}

Well it's windy and freeeeeezing here (no more pretty snow) & it's warm and sunny there. Sigh.
I'm already planning a mini vacation in my head. Wanderlust kicks in majorly for me after the holidays.  Palm trees, daiquiris, new bathing suits, etc. Perhaps I'm craving a vacation after the vacation?
I wish I was bundled up in faux fur, exploring DC while holding hands and walking through softly falling snow… and I also wish I was putting on bright colors, soft nude heels, and simple gold jewelry against tanned skinned to go out dancing under the moon.

Day dreaming on Thursdays always help me get to Friday ;)

{warm and cozy}

Red cups are still here and I'm loving it.

Camel Turtleneck (on sale for $60) // MK Bracelet // MK Watch, old (similar, similar) // Franco Sarto Boots // MAC Lipstick in "See Sheer"

Confession: This was supposed to be a Christmas present and it came in the mail and I just had to wear it hehe. I loved it that much! So, it wasn't under the tree Christmas morning but it was in my suitcase ;) I got this sweater in a medium so that it would fit bigger but I shrunk it slightly in the wash (hand wash this fabric y'all). It's just the coziest thing ever with the extra fabric around the neck and the pretty detailing along the sides.

So don't be surprised if you see me wear this… again… and again!

{lilly pulitzer after party sale}

So… I'm a day late. I haven't been very good with checking my emails (okay I've barely checked them) so a lot of things are already sold out. Womp. But I've linked my favorites that are still available!
Honestly, I adore Lilly P but I own one scarf and a dress aaaaand I bought them both during the sale last summer! These are the best times to invest because they're so much cheaper than usual. Grab 'em while you can, ladies!

Happy Shopping!

{best of 2014}

This is my first post of 2015 so… Happy New Year!!
I took a little break last week so that I could fully enjoy the first days of January with my friends and my boy! We laughed, ate, drank, and explored DC. Perfect way to kick off a new year!

I had a lot of fun yesterday shooting some new looks (did you see my sneak peek?) with my friend and photographer, Emily, but thought I would start by reflecting on last year's top posts. I have set a lot of goals for myself and also for Southern Anchors this coming year and would love to hear any kind of feedback from y'all - the readers: What do you like? What do you not like? Do you want to see more of something? Any favorite types of posts? How do you feel about my recipe posts?
I'd love to be able to talk with you :) comment below or send me an email - southernanchors@gmail.com
